| Ultimate x64 | Re: Boot Screen - Change Ye.. Shawn or is it brink.. anyway is descrobing methods how to make it work , given your system locale is set to en-US. However.. that is not the case many of you have as the problem. (In control panel , under regional settings, you can set your current system local etc. and copy it to the reserved account). However, even if you change it to en-US (lets say for those who have en-GB), the program still will say, wrong system local (it looks in the GB folder which is empty). I have this problem myself. Can only propose either this is sorted in the program author's forum (have no idea), set all keyboard formats, locales and copy to reserved US and restart (this is nto ewnough).. then try and reinstall the program. Just going to try it now myself. If that doesnt work. then yes.. I suspect poster who mentioned that registry is pointing to GB values (or other langaguages for the other users), need to be manually edited after* setting all locales in the regional option to US. Then the settings should* point to US in all cases and reinstalling after this the program (just to be sure) should pick up on the right folder. PS. The idea of copying winload over to GB folder I think is a no-g0. Since that folder is empty the system should refer to the one in en-US. Hence patching a substitute one in a dummy folder shouldn't do much. lak |

| Ultimate x64 | Re: Boot Screen - Change Hmm.. well , I tried around , still haven't solved it.. still only get the aurora borealis since it can't set the custom one. (Also tried with tune up .. didn't work). For some it will be solved however.. by looking in bcdedit, that both bootloader and bootmanager sections have the locale=..... set. To fix this (if locale is not set in both sections), change system locale in the regional settings to something random, then set it back to your normal one. Then check the sections again. If now you have both sections with locale set, you might have solved yoru problem. For most of us in the post however, it is the same problem as I have and needs some more tinkering. lak (got exams now coming up.. so am not gonna be bothered sorting it out right now x) |

| Ultimate x64 | Re: Boot Screen - Change Well ok.. just got back from a meeting at uni.. Thanks brink.. Anyway.. I can tell people what *doesn't* help. If you wish to get the file to generate properly when you get the error saying can't find part of the path... bla bla to your locale (typically would not be en-US): You can change the number format (so first tab in regional settings to US, then it shoudl work). I did it throught ther registry , eg. changing key HCurrent_user/ControlPanel/International ... cnaging key Locale to 0409 and Localename to en-US. Then I could generate the mui file. Although, it doesn't solve anything because your bootscreen is still being linked somewhere else. So you will still get the aurora or so. I also changed the local value manually in the bootloader but this as suspected , did nothing. So now you know. I believe the real value which needs changing in the registry to point properly to the en-US folder , (for those in similar problem as I am in), it is a hexadecimal edit, which makes it more complex than just tinkering about. Oh.. and also, copying the contents from en-US to a new folder (en-GB in my casse, which didnt exist)... did not help either. gl , plz post if someone finds the correct key to change or so. lak |
