    How to Upload and Post a Screenshot and File in Vista Forums

    This will show you how to upload, attach, and post a screenshot, image, or a file in your post here at Vista Forums.

    OPTION ONE

    To Upload and Insert Images into a Post

    1. Have your image or screenshot created with Paint (mspaint.exe) or Snipping Tool ready to upload.


    2. While editing your post, place the cursor where you would like to insert the image at, click on the image icon on the toolbar. (see screenshot below)

    3. Do step 4 or 5 below depending on where the image is at.

    4. If the Image is from Your Computer

    A) Click on the From Computer tab, and click on the Browse button. (see screenshot below)

    B) Navigate to where you have the image saved at, select it, then click on the Open button. (see screenshot below)

    C) Click on the Upload File(s) button. (see screenshot below)

    D) Repeat steps 4A-4C if you would like to upload more images.

    5. If the Image is from an URL

    A) Click on the From URL tab, and enter the URL address of the image. (see screenshot below)

    B) Check the Retrieve remote file and reference locally box, and click on OK. (see screenshot below)

    6. If you like, you could double click on the inserted image to adjust the Image Settings for it below. When finished, click on OK to apply to the image. (see screenshot below)

    7. When finished with your post, click on either the Post Quick Reply or Submit Reply button to post it. (see screenshot below)

    OPTION TWO

    To Upload and Attach ANY File into a Post

    1. Have your image created with Windows 8 direct screenshot, Paint (mspaint.exe), or Snipping Tool, and/or have your file ready to upload.

    2. While editing your post, click on the Go Advanced button. (see screenshot below)

    3. While editing your post, click on the paperclip icon on the toolbar. (see screenshot below)

    4. Click on a empty Browse button. (see screenshot below)

    5. Navigate to where you have the image or file saved at, select it, then click on the Open button. (see screenshot below)

    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you run out of Browse lines, or you are finished adding images or files to be uploaded.
    NOTE: Be sure to click on a different Browse button per item.


    7. When fnished, click on the Upload button. (see screenshot below)

    8. If you wish to add more images or files to be uploaded, then repeat steps 3 to 7 until finished or you have reached the maximum allowed files to be uploaded.


    9. When done, close this window or tab. You will notice that your uploaded items will be listed at the bottom as Current Attachements. (see screenshot below)
    NOTE: If you would like to remove one of the uploaded Current Attachments, then click on the Remove button to the right of the one you would like to remove.

    10. While back at editing your post, place the cursor in your post to where you want to attach the image at.


    11. Click on the paperclip icon drop down arrow on the toolbar, and select a uploaded image to attach it to the post. (see screenshot below)

    12. Repeat steps 10 and 11 for any other uploaded item you want to be attached to be displayed in your post.


    13. If this was a image that you attached, then you could double click on the image to adjust the Image Settings for it below. When finished, click on OK to apply to the image. (see screenshot below)

    14. When finished with your post, click on the Submit Reply button to post it. (see screenshot below)
