| Vista Ultimate 32bit/Windows 7 RC build 7100 | Re: Windows Mail problems Yeah you know the frustrating thing is that my wife's charter email on her user account is working just fine. At least that's the silver lining here...that I didn't also jack up her email as well! I checked out that link to Charter's specs....the only difference is on the servers. I'm set to use pop.charter.net for incoming and smtp.charter.net as outgoing. I thought thats what it was before, but i guess i can change it to mail.charter.net for both. But i just doubt that will be the problem you know because the password box doesn't even keep the "dots"... Makes me start thinking about Windows Live Mail.... |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Mail problems Dustinfrank, I would recommend switching to Windows Live Mail to try it out and see how you like it instead. It's what I currently use. I feel it's a better program, plus it's a lot more stable. Shawn |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Mail problems I just liked that Windows Live Mail integrated my Hotmail email account, regular email account from my ISP, and Windows Live Messenger into one nice neat program with a separate set Inboxes for each on. I have been using it for quite a while now. |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit SP1 | Re: Windows Mail problems Hi Brink, Just tried your restore your Windows Mail hoping to fix a glitch with my Toshiba laptop(it seems to suffer from a delay of realising you've added emails to draft folder/outbox folder and only show up as being in there if you close then reopen the program then you get the correct amount of numbers in brackets next to drafts or outbox) and as I've added stationery I copied the file as spent ages building up my stationery and when I restored my new clean Windows Mail there was every other file/folder back in there except my stationery folder so might be worth adding this to your excellent tutorial that if you've added stationery make sure you back it up as when you delete it the clean one won't restore the stationery folder I had to manually copy and paste my backed up one into there or else had no stationery at all. | Vista Home Premium 32bit SP1 | Re: Windows Mail problems Thanks for adding that as a warning guess its one of those things unless you use it you don't realise that it doesn't get restored when you reset it. Weird thing is that you expect it to at least restore the default stationery that came with Vista but there was nothing there no stationery folder at all and was really glad had thought to back it up as have 1.75mb of stationery saved so shows you how much I made :-) Debbie |
