| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Mail problems If Windows Mail is working properly, then it should automatically copy over your accounts and messages, but not sure about any added folders. Here's a quote from this tutorial to help with changing over to WLM. Quote: It supports Pop3, IMAP, HTTP website (EX: Hotmail) email, and is a lot more stable. Plus, WLM will minimize to a tray bar icon, checks spelling as you type messages, and has a separate Inbox for each email account. WLM will automatically import Windows Mail messages, accounts, and settings into it. Contacts will have to be manually imported from within WLM. (Tools, Contacts, File, Import, Address book for current Windows User.) To see the Menu bar, press ALT+M and check "Show all menus". For 32 bit and 64 bit Vista: Windows Live Suite Downloads Shawn |

| Vista Home | Re: Windows Mail problems Hi, I am running Vista Home and receive a stack of mail each day (including spam) and some of the genuine mail generates an error on opening. I think it when the mail originates from a Mac, I am not sure about this. The error message looks like this ![]() Of course I press Yes since I want this mail. It is not a serious error since I can overcome it, but it is very irritating. Can anybody tell me how to overcome this please. Thanks in anticipation Brian Stickland |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Mail problems Hi Brian, Is this from within Windows Mail? The error is from Internet Explorer instead letting you know that there is an error in the script for that webpage. It's not going to hurt anything, but you might notify that website that their webpage has a script error, and give them a copy of the error message. Hope this helps, Shawn |

| Vista Home Basic 32x SP1 | Re: Windows Mail problems I was required to set up a @live.com account for school. Tried to set up Windows mail to include my school e-mail,But cannot for the life of me find the In and out port numbers anywhere on the live.com website. After a few hours I gave up and D/L the Windows Live Mail software, where I dont need to know the port numbers. For exams, I should know this stuff. Anyone using @live.com with Windows Mail that could help out? |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Mail problems Hello Garaboldi, Unfortunately Windows Mail does not support web based email like @live.com (hotmail). You would be better off using Windows Live Mail instead. Plus, it is more stable than Windows Mail. ![]() Shawn |

| Vista Home | Re: Windows Mail problems HI BRink Yes, this is from within Windows Mail. It happens when I open mail sent from a Mac computer, I think. I understand that the error message says it is from Explorer which is really weird. Any ideas on this. Thanks Brian Stickland |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Mail problems Brian, I have not seen this before myself. As a test, try the free Windows Live Mail to see if you get the same error or not. You can still use either email program or both at the same time. Windows Live Suite Downloads |
