| Vista home | Re: Windows Mail problems I have the windows firewall and AVG running without the e mail scanner turned on. There are no traces of McAfee that I can see. Do you think I should go through the delete process again & not save the files this time. I have a feeling that even though I had them in a temp directory on my desk top they might have corrupted the mail again. The mail program is receiving again but not sending. I have no problem with loseing anything because it's a new notebook & my regular email is on my desktop computer running XP. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Mail problems RichC, You might consider switching to Windows Live Mail Beta 2 instead since you are still having problems with Windows Mail. It is a lot more robust. Look at page 1 for the links for it. Shawn |

| Vista | Re: Windows Mail problems How do I permanently delete the "Recovered Mail" folder in Windows Mail? Every time I open Windows Mail, the Recovered Mail folder creates another sub folder labeled by the current date and time. When I look into these sub folders, there are no messages in them. I am able to delete any and all sub folders, but I am unable to delete the Recovered Mail folder, nor can I stop it from creating more folders. Any suggestions? I have already removed all files from my mail folder and reloaded my e-mails and accounts, but that folder is still there. Michael |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Mail problems Hi mjdjr0310, Welcome to the forum. ![]() Since your emails are messed up with the Recovered Mail problem, you may have to do the reset without restoring anything to clear the problem. After the reset and when you manually recreated your accounts, you could try and Import the email messages back in. If it still shows up, then you will have to reset without restoring anything from a backup. Hope it works out for you, Shawn |
