This sounds more like the permission was disallowed for it. This will allow you to repair your Vista installation without losing your files, settings, and programs. Windows Mail comes up on my screen and prevents me from accessing the rest of my computer. I dont use windows mail so its frustrating to have it flashing up on me when im trying to use my computer. Any help on this would be highly appreciated! |

If it is remove or delete it. This tutorial will show you a few methods on changing the startup programs. How to Check and Change the Startup Programs in Vista You might run a thorough virus scan to be safe since something is trying to send email when you start the computer. Shawn |

This is a corruption problem. What antivirus program are you using? See the FIRST section in this tutorial to see if it applies to you. If not, then you can try to see if running a sfc /scannow command can find and fix the problem for you. Repeat for any other WinMail.exe entry. This will make sure that you have all instances of Windows Mail (WinMail.exe) closed. Try running Windows Mail now. Be sure to close Windows Mail before you shutdown the computer to. Which antivirus program are you using? Shawn |
