| Vista 32bits Sp2 Ultimate | Re: Power Options and Sleep Mode Problems Hello, I'm using a Lenovo T61p 6460-6xg running Vista U, Sp2. The powercfg -a shows S3 ay hybernation mode only available, which is unfortunate becase as you explained, S3 runs on battery although reduced (10% of the battery per 24hrs). Is there a way I can make it run in S4 mode or is that only set by the firmware ? Regards |

| Vista 32bits Sp2 Ultimate | Re: Power Options and Sleep Mode Problems THanks for the quick reply. The hybernation is on - as per your tutorial (i actually found it and applied before asking you this question). I can see the hybernate file the the explorer (a 3gb file, like the available RAM), as well as in the disk cleaner. But what I notice is that the computer does still use a bit of battery while on hybernation - where I hoped it would be possible to make it hybernate in the S4 mode when it would not use battery. Would you have any advise. Thanks Brink, regards |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Power Options and Sleep Mode Problems Did you have hybrid mode enabled where your computer will go to sleep first for a bit, then later go to hibernation? |

| Vista 32bits Sp2 Ultimate | Re: Power Options and Sleep Mode Problems I'm not quite sure to undestand the question : here is some aspects that might help -powercfg -a states that s3 is available on the system, while s1 & s2 are not supported by the firmware. No word on S4 - the start buton does show hybernate a option - i can notice a file stored at the root called hyberfil.sys of 3gb - the disk cleaner show the option to clear the file (as indicated in your tutorial) - in the power plan the hybernate is set after 20min, and the hybrid is to Yes Does that helps ? Regards |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Power Options and Sleep Mode Problems Yep, that helps. Set Hybrid to "Never" in step 8 of the STEP TWO section for the recommended settings for hibernation. That should allow you computer to save to the hiberfil.sys file and then go into hibernation without using any of the battery. |

| Vista 32 Home premium | Re: Power Options and Sleep Mode Problems I'm having the same problem as many people here but I still haven't been able to solve it. I was using Hibernation on my laptop ALL the time, so it was working perfectly before... it's just after I installed Adobe Dreamweaver that I stopped being able to put my computer into hibernation mode. Everytime I try to hibernate, the screens turns off for a few seconds and after that it just takes me back to the login screen. I have followed all the steps in the tutorial (except the restoring one because it seems I lost all my restoring points), and I still can't seem to find the solution. I have disabled all the devices that were able to wake my pc up, changed the energy management options, everything. I also uninstalled Dreamweaver and the problem is still there. Any suggestions? |
