Power Options and Sleep Mode Problems

Did you make sure that everything was set like the Sleep options in Step Two of this tutorial with S3 selected in the BIOS?

I had found the drivers already and I am sure that I had the BIOS set to S3 sleep along with the settings from step 2 of the tutorial.

Any other ideas?

Did you try removing the TV Tuner card to see if that was the cause of this yet? It will be worth a try to see.

That was one of the first things I did once it started causing the BSODs.

I must admit that I'm stumped. I do not know what else to try other than a complete reinstall to hopefully eliminate the cause.

Hello, I found this thread off google. I see others are having sleep problems too.

I tried the methods listed and my monitor still will not wake up after sleep. I can hear that windows is awake by sound coming out of my speakers from tapping on the keyboard. However, the monitor no matter what I do still will not awake. I have unplugged it and turned it off and on with nothing.

Comp specs:
Dell Inspiron 530 (Desktop)
Intel Core 2 Quad (Q6600)
4gig of A-Data ram
Gigabyte 8600 GT (fanless)
only keyboard + mouse plugged in through USB

Everything is updated. Vista is running most current updates. Motherboard is updated. The built in graphics card is not disabled through Windows (Windows cannot even detect it) but rather selected to boot PCI first than onboard. BIOS has no option to physically disable it.

So, I am stumped. It may be nVidia needs to update the drivers to a more current version to reflect SP1 (latest release is Dec 07). Other than that, no idea.

You could try the latest 175.16 beta Nvidia drivers to see if that helps.

When I push the power button to wake up my computer up from sleep, my wireless keyboard and mouse do not work. Any ideas where to start?

Welcome to Vista Forums.

I would check in the BIOS first to make sure that you have the USB Keyboard and Mouse options enabled.

Next, check to make sure that you have all the latest drivers and software installed for the MX 3200. I noticed these files:

1. SetPoint 4.00BR
2. Firmware update for desktop mini receivers
3. Logitech® Desktop Messenger

hmm... vista doesn't share media already..
no tuner card..
i updated my grpahics card...
how do i check GC properties and detaisl of the power data...

alrite i shall not go and format.. lol

and how do i verify the size of hiberfil.sys?? (i realli don't get computers)

do u think it will work if i delete the hibernation thingy folder thingy in the disk cleanup thing and then reinstall or re'find' it?
