Re: Administrator Account

Hello, newbie here - older generation person, non-techie, but intelligent, I'm told.
Finally divided into administrator and owner/user accounts, after run-in with Malware.
Quick list of things that are great trouble now.
1. I stubbornly use WordPerfect. Now when in User, it tells me not enough memory. I have 2 g.
Come to think, no list. Just that it has some things available in one or the other account.
How do I get the Owner/user to be just as it was before I did what the tutorial i'm replying to said to do?

Thanks

Re: Administrator Account

Hello Hogarth, and welcome to Vista Forums.

The tutorial will show you how to enable and disable the built-in Administrator account.

To use the built-in Administrator account, you will just need to log on to it. To go back to your normal default administrator account (setup when installing Vista), you would just need to log off the built-in Administrator account and log on to the normal default administrator account instead.

If this is not what you meant, then please let me know. I will help.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: Administrator Account

Not quite, but the light begins to dawn on the idea that gaining access and (lmited) control over the hidden ADMIN account, I should also have a normal ADMIN and my lowly owner acct..
I just understood enough to have 2.
I don't have time to figure it out right now, but it would be nice to find a tad more help from you when I'm here again in the
Evening (EDT.)
Thanks so far.

Re: Administrator Account

Ok, see you then. Just post back the question about what you need to know when you get the chance.

Lookiing things over as I've messed them up, I decided to use the complete backup I made on Saturday the 4th.
Probably do a system restore first.
I'll let you know

Update:
System repair worked, and I don't neet to dig into my backup.
Just about ready to watch the debate.
I think if I need help again, it will be in another category.

Many thanks

You need to elevate the command prompt. Steps 1 to 4.

Re: Administrator Account

Hi PC Power, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You will need to do this from within an administrator account (setup with the installation of Vista) and not in a Standard account.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
