Right click on the Security Center service and click Properties. 2. Click on the Log On tab. 3. Under Log on as: A) Dot This account, and make sure it has Local Service in the field. 4. At the bottom, make sure that Undocked Profile is set to Enabled. 5. Click on the Recovery tab. A) Make sure that Restart the Service is selected for the first and second failure. 6. Click OK. See if that helps it now, Shawn |

See if that helps it now, Shawn i've research for this security center stuff. and find out that you can disable this annoying red X shield on taskbar by renaming these files wscapi.dll wscsvc.dll wscui.cpl into .bak extension or anything that you desire (i had copied these files in other folder, backup) |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Security Center vectorman, I'm glad that you found a way to resolve your problem. Just so you will know to prevent it from happening, since these are system files, they may get restored if you run any kind of System Restore or a sfc /scannow command. Shawn |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Security Center i think i should use the old thread instead of creating a new thread. my question is i've done my way of disabling the alert; red X balloon-like at the bottom taskbar tray. but after i updated to vista Home premium SP1, i get back the alert... you know i'd like to know is there any way to disable tthe alert besides renaming the three file wscapi.dll wscsvc.dll wscui.cpl TIA, shenli |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Security Center Hi Shenli, Installing the SP1 resets just about everything in Vista back to default settings. You should be able to just turn it off again like before in this tutorial. Another option is to disable specific items that the Security Center will alert you about. Security Center Specific Alert Notification Hope this helps, Shawn |
