| Vista Home Premium 32bit SP2 | Re: Index - Enable or Disable Not sure if it was because of indexing, but whenever I would try to remove an external hard drive, Windows would say that it was in use. Ever since disabling indexing for the partitions on my external, I haven't every gotten an error when unmounting them. Thanks! |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Index - Enable or Disable Hi Frank, Since it is an external drive, do you have the Safely Remove Hardware option to remove the hard drive with instead? You can see what it looks like in this unrelated tutorial if needed. Safely Remove Hardware Shortcut Hope this helps, Shawn |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit SP2 | Re: Index - Enable or Disable Sorry if I didn't make it clear, I meant that whenever I would choose to "Safely Remove Hardware" it would say something along the lines of "Windows is currently using the hardware, please try again later" and ever since disabling indexing, I've yet recieved this error message. |

| Vista Ultimate 64 & 32bit | Re: Index - Enable or Disable I'm a little late to this, but how does one disable the warning when searching in a folder that says, "Your searches might be slow because the index is not running. Click to turn on the index..." It's not a big deal, but it is a little annoying to have this pop up every time I search. And please, don't tell me to turn on the index! LOL J/K ![]() Thanks, Mic |
