| vista home premium 64bit | Re: New Folder I had already done that. No good. When the antivirus was turned on I had excluded scanning from the 3 different folders I was trying to save to. Excluded exe and zip files. Same result. I think something is wrong in the registry related to why I can not rename a new folder. |

If so, then you can just copy of any user files that you want to keep. After everything checks out ok for a day or so to be sure, you can delete the old account from within the new one. |

| vista home premium 64bit | Re: New Folder Well there had to have been some kind of windows update that fixed my ability to save the files cuz I can do that now. Installed both of the reg files (newfolderfix and fix rename 64 bit vista) and I still cant rename. This issue is all over the internet. 296,000 hits for can't rename folder in vista and some things work for some. Some do not. |

It restores the default folder associations. Default File Type Associations - Restore If not, see if running a sfc /scannow command may. |
