Re: New Folder

Hi Aracnephobiar, and welcome to Vista Forums.

What did it do afterwards?

Did it merge for you anyway?

Shawn

It said that the 'keys and values had been successfully added into the registry. But I still cannot create a new folder. Any clue?

Re: New Folder

Have you already restarted the computer to apply the changes? If you have, then try the REG file again. I have added more to it to restore the responsible CLSID key also.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: New Folder

Well, I had already re-downloaded the REG file and restarted my PC. It's still the same.
Hahah, thanks anyway for trying to help.

Re: New Folder

I am having this issue with Vista Ultimate x32. I tried to use the fix for this OS but when doing the merge it only open the file in Notepad. Are you aware of a similar fix for Vista x32?

Re: New Folder

Hello Philk, and welcome to Vista Forums.

It sounds like the .reg file extension is not set to be opened by the default regedit.exe. You will just need to set the file extension Name .reg to have the Current Default set as Registry Editor (C:\Windows\regedit.exe) in Default Programs. Method Two in this tutorial will show you how to.

Default Programs

Afterwards, try merging the reg file again to fix your New Folder problem.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
