| Newbie Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Re: Windows Explorer Folder View settings I used this link, <http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/70819-windows-explorer-folder-view-settings.html>, to hopefully fix my problem, but it did not. I downloaded the registry fix, Merged it, and restarted my computer. But then when I open an Explorer window, navigate to a directory tree of interest, size the window to my taste, select Folder Options... from the Tools menu, ensure that 'Remember each folder's view settings' under the View tab is checked, and click on the 'Apply to Folders' button, I find that the system does NOT remember anything. Whenever I reopen an Explorer window, Vista continues to create it in a smaller, default size and puts it anywhere on the screen that it darned well pleases. It's enough to make you scream. I have Vista Home Premium 32-bit on a new Toshiba laptop I just bought on July 20th, 2008. (I'm trying to get used to learning the new Vista "language" since my "native language" is XP.) What am I doing wrong? Frustrated and nostalgic for good old XP, Diogenes Last edited by Diogenes; 07-26-2008 at 04:33 PM. |

Make sure that you close the window after you have it set the way you liked to have Vista remember it for the next time it is opened. Afterwards, you should be able to use the "Apply to Folders" button. Shawn |
