Re: Windows Mail - MailTo link error

When I try to click in a mailto link in IE7 of Windows vista home premium 32bit, I receive an error message "Could not perform this operation because the deefault mail client is not properly installed"
I follow the tutorial How to Fix Multiple Browser Windows Open When You Click On a MailTo Link in Vista, the problem still exists.
Can you help me please?

Thanks

Re: Windows Mail - MailTo link error

Hi gkosmas,

Welcome to Vista x64 Forums.

I do not think Step One would apply to you for this situation. It would not have hurt anything though since it is just restoring default settings.

You will need to make sure that Windows Mail and Internet Explorer both have their default associations set to them. Just do one at a time.

Windows Mail Default Associations

If you have Outlook installed on your computer, it can cause you to lose Windows Mail as the default email program everytime it updates itself.

Hope this helps you,
Shawn
