| Vista Home Premium x32 | Re: Help and Support in Vista Brink, thanks for the reply. So it it just a file? or does it need registry entries etc? Was the file I downloaded from the microsoft website was just the install program and accessed the internet to complete the install. Is that correct? |

| Vista Home Premium 64bit | how much I appreciate this. There is a world of us out here that have been evolved into using the Vista 64bit OS, and thanks to Microsofts infinite lack of wisdom, our old software has problems. XP worked fine but then they had to fix it with Vista. Well, I'm ranting on so I'll check out now. Thanks again. PS You should title this string on the internet as to the real fix for this problem, namely the macro error code 1037 for help files on older applications. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Help and Support in Vista The file is only a installation file. You would just run it on your dad's computer to install it. It does not need to access the internet to be installed. You only needed to access the internet to download the file. That's all. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Help and Support in Vista Hello Vmcnaidu, and welcome to Vista Forums. I'm not sure if Option Two is the same for this, but you might give it a try to see if it can help. If not, then you can try running a sfc /scannow command to see if it can find and fix any bad system files that may be the cause. If that still does not help, then you can do a System Restore using a restore point dated before this problem. Hope this helps, Shawn |
