Vista - Context Menu - Add COPY TO FOLDER and MOVE TO FOLDER

Hi , i added these extra menu bars, but now my context menu is opening very slowly, my system has good speed. i don't understand, pls help, thnks

Hello Rourke,

Adding these context menu items alone should not have caused this, but you may have some other menu items that are interfering with these causing this slow context menu opening.

If you remove the context menu items you added from this tutorial, does the context menu open at normal speed again?

If you have recently installed any 3rd party programs that also adds context menu items, then you might try temporarily disabling them to see if that may be the source of this problem.

You can use the free program ShellExView and look for all Context Menu item Types. It may take a bit, but disable the ones you suspect may be the cause a few at a time until the problem is no longer there. Afterwards, you can enable the ones that were not the cause again.

Thanks Shawn; but i did not add any other item. i am only added copy to folder & move to folder, i was install ShellExView and i was disabled contex menu bar of some programs, but its coused more, anyhow i think i'll re install my vista

Your welcome Rourke. You can easily enable the ones that you have already disabled again in ShellExView though.

Did uninstalling the COPY TO FOLDER and MOVE TO FOLDER items return your context menu back to normal?

No, its already disable. I tryed this. its not workin' my pc also i used regedit, i did not use ShellExView on that time. Copy & move to folder bars disabled but context menu currently slow :| i think one way format lol

Well, it may be a bit extreme, but that should fix it.

Thank you for making this thread and giving users so many tips! I registered just so I could ask you guys a question regarding the context menu.

Back in the XP days there was a way to add a toggle for hidden files to the context menu. Just right click, then click show hidden files, and it would toggle hidden files on and off.

Do you know how i could add such a think to Vista x64? Sadly the way i made it work for xp does not work with vista.
