Re: Windows Mail Signatures

Could be .....

If you are using a third party security system that scans your mail i would check that out to make sure, its worth a try

Re: Windows Mail Signatures

I see something about a "Norton Anti-SPAM test" but I wouldn't know how to turn that thing off. I don't see a Norton programm on my pc.

Re: Windows Mail Signatures

This is a nightmare. I'm having trouble with step 7.

1. Open Windows Mail. DONE
2. Click on Tools and then click Options. DONE
3. Click the Signatures tab. DONE
4. To Use Signatures on All E‑mail Messages - DONE
A) Check Add signatures to all outgoing messages.
NOTE: This will automatically include the default signature in all of your messages.
B) To Include Replies and Forwards - Uncheck Don't add signatures to Replies and Forwards.
5. Click New. DONE
6. To Create a Simple Text Signature - N/A
7. To Create and Add a File Based Signature -

NOTE
If you want to create a signature containing custom fonts, links, or images; design the signature using Windows Mail.I had a guy design it for me.

WARNING
The signature file cannot be over 4KB in size. If you are going to include a image file in the signature, then you may need to link the image file from somewhere like ImageShack inside the signature file instead to prevent the size of the signature file from going over 4KB.Signature html file is only 591 bytes

A) Click on Create Mail in Windows Mail. DONE
B) Leave the address fields blank, and add what you want for the signature in the body. DONE - but it comes out as a red X inside a box

When I view the source, this is what it reads
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<META content="MSHTML 6.00.6000.16681" name=GENERATOR>
<STYLE></STYLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY bgColor=#ffffff>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><IMG
src="C:\Users\Ryan\Documents\Gunn &amp; Associates\Signature\signature.htm.htm"></FONT></DIV>
<DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><IMG
src="file://C:\Users\Ryan\Documents\Gunn &amp; Associates\Signature\Ryan_e-mail\r-gunn.htm"></FONT></DIV></DIV></BODY></HTML>

Is it impossible to use a signature if it's not created with windows mail?

Please help!!!

Thanks

Re: Windows Mail Signatures

Hi Ryan,

Have you already done steps 7R to 7S to allow the attached image to be seen and unblocked?

Re: Windows Mail Signatures

Ryan,

Do you have some 3rd party security program that has it's option to filter email messages turned on?

Re: Windows Mail Signatures

Hey Shawn. Thanks again for your help.

I have Norton and both "outgoing email scanning" and "incoming email scanning" are turned on. Which should I turn off?

Re: Windows Mail Signatures

I would turn both options off as a test.
