| Vista Home Premium | Re: Windows Mail Signatures I am trying to use signatures already set up for Outlook on another computer, and add them to Windows Mail on my Vista machine...but cannot find the file where signatures are stored. I've read lots about how to set up signatures individually, but how can I copy my signature file in Outlook?... where do I copy it to?... is it really limited to 4K?? that's only a few signatures Thanks. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Mail Signatures Hi Leonardo, and welcome to Vista Forums. You should be able to pick up at and use step 7K to add that signature file. Each signature file is limited to 4K, not all signatures if that is what you mean. Hope this helps, Shawn |

| Vista Home Premium | Re: Windows Mail Signatures Sorry for being dense (or obtuse).. I can't find the file in which my signatures exist on my Vista machine (using Windows Mail... not Outlook)...so I don' know where to put the signatures I'm trying to use from my XP machine |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Mail Signatures No problem Leonardo, If you mean that you cannot find the signature files in Vista to add them to Windows Mail, then you can do an Advanced Search using a non-indexed search (step 7) for All results (step 3) in Everywhere location (step 4) to search and hopefully fine the file names on your computer. Advanced Search If you just wanted to use the files from XP, then you can save them to any folder you like to store them at and select them from with Windows Mail from step 7K in this Signature tutorial. Hope this helps. Shawn |

| Vista Home Premium | Re: Windows Mail Signatures Thanks for your patience... The solution you suggest allows me to add one signature at a time to Windows Mail. I'm trying to take a few hundred signatures that exist on in Outlook 2003 (all stored in a "signatures" folder).... and copy them into the appropriate folder on my VISTA machine using Windows Mail... I'm trying to find the folder on my VISTA machine into which I can copy my few hundred signature files.... I probably should have described it this way the first time... but it's taken this dialogue for me to appreciate how uniformative my first descriptions were. Thanks. again for your patience and persistence at trying to help. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Mail Signatures No problem Leonardo, I have not found a Signature folder for Windows Mail like in Outlook. As far as I can tell you can only add them one by one to Windows Mail. Sorry, ![]() Shawn |

| Home Basic x64 | Re: Windows Mail Signatures Great Instructions BTW for techno numpties like me! Only thing I would add is to 7B; do not copy from another source, type the signature required from scratch. I was trying to copy from Word and pasting it directly into the composition window and it wouldn't work initially but I progressed and was successful! Ta for that! |

| Vista Home Premium 32-bit & Vista Ultimate 64-bit both Service Pack 2 W7 Pro RTM 7600 32 & 64 | Re: Windows Mail Signatures This method shows an alternative way of attaching '.htm' code as a signature. For this example, I am using the following. ![]() Copy it into 'Notepad' and give it the name 'test.htm'. Save it to your hard drive, and make a note of the location (I suggest that you create a folder in your documents, call it 'Email Signatures', and save the file there). In Windows Mail, click on 'Tools' and then 'Options... '. Select the 'Signatures' tab. This image shows the default where no signature has been selected. ![]() Click 'New' and select 'File'. Next, click 'Browse...' and locate the required file (remember to select the required file type). ![]() When you have located it, click on it and it will appear in the box as shown in the images below (2 images are shown as the file path is too long to show in one). You can enter it manually if you so wish, but the other method is recommended as it avoids mistakes. Note that '<Name>' represents your user name. ![]() ![]() Click on 'OK' to close the dialogue box. Next, I suggest that you send yourself a test Email. Incidentally, 'Signatures' was the only tab that I modified. All others were left untouched. |
