Re: Disk Management - Delete and Extend

Hi Miguel,

Welcome to Vista x64 Forums.

When you get to step 6, are you right clicking on the drive partition that you want to make bigger, not the one you deleted, to click on Extend Volume. This will usually be the drive partition to the left of the one you deleted.

how do i get around this? I followed the instructions to a T.

Thanks
This method worked out fine. As I had one primary partition and 2 logical drives on same disk C:\. I deleted both the logical drives D: & E: It gave me green marked new volume. The C:\ Extend Drive feature was grey then. I dleted the new green volume and then tried Extension of C:\. It worked out fine and now full volume of C:\ is dedicated to Vista.

Re: Disk Management - Delete and Extend

This method did not work for me. I have C:, D: and E: partitions on the same HDD. OS is on C. I shrinked D: and tried to add this new allocated space to C. But "extend volume" option on C was grayyed. Why cannot I extend my C?

Re: Disk Management - Delete and Extend

Do you have the free space next to C: partition?

C: Free D: E: to have a chance at working.

You can't extend

C: D: free E:

will not work. Free space has to be next to the partition.

It is like C: D: FREE E: Can I change this?

Re: Disk Management - Delete and Extend

Hi Hasan_hzl,

You can make Free a separate partition and copy the data from D: over to it, then delete D: and extend C: into D: to have C: - (new Free with letter) - E: .

It's a bit of a shuffle, but it will work.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
