| Administrator | Re: Disk Management - Delete and Extend Hi Miguel, Welcome to Vista x64 Forums. ![]() When you get to step 6, are you right clicking on the drive partition that you want to make bigger, not the one you deleted, to click on Extend Volume. This will usually be the drive partition to the left of the one you deleted. Shawn |

| Member | Re: Disk Management - Delete and Extend This method would not let me extend the volume with Vista on it (C:\) the Extend... was grayed out, but it would let me extend the D:\ that has my XP installation on it... ALL are on the same disk! how do i get around this? I followed the instructions to a T. Thanks |

| Aerospace Engineer | Re: Disk Management - Delete and Extend This method did not work for me. I have C:, D: and E: partitions on the same HDD. OS is on C. I shrinked D: and tried to add this new allocated space to C. But "extend volume" option on C was grayyed. Why cannot I extend my C? |

| Master | Re: Disk Management - Delete and Extend Do you have the free space next to C: partition? C: Free D: E: to have a chance at working. You can't extend C: D: free E: will not work. Free space has to be next to the partition. |

| Administrator | Re: Disk Management - Delete and Extend Hi Hasan_hzl, You can make Free a separate partition and copy the data from D: over to it, then delete D: and extend C: into D: to have C: - (new Free with letter) - E: . It's a bit of a shuffle, but it will work. Hope this helps, Shawn |
