| | Running external app from an HTA on Windows Server 2003 x64 Hello, I'm having a problem with an HTA running on Windows Server 2003 x64. The HTA executes a VBScript statement to initiate a shutdown: result = WshShell.run("shutdown.exe /r /c ""Maintenance Mode Reboot"" /f /t 30 /d p:0:0",7,true) This statement works fine on a 32 Bit version of Windows Server 2003, but not on an x64 version. Apparently, since no path has been given, the system searches for "shutdown.exe" in %SystemRoot%\SysWow64 and not in %SystemRoot%\System32, where shutdown.exe is located. I tried everything to get the correct path into the script, but nothing works. Neither putting in the complete path directly, not working via the environment variable. The error message I get is "The system cannot find the file specified". When issuing the shutdown command with "cmd.exe /k " in front of it, I cannot manually issue the shutdown command from this command prompt window. It just doesn't find the shutdown.exe, even with a fully specified path. Can someone please shed some light on this? I feel a bit lost here. Thanks a lot! Regards, André |
