Migrating shares from EMC NAS to MS Cluster?

We are planning to migrate our data from an EMC NAS server/storage to an MS
Cluster (on W2K3 servers) connected to an HP EVA SAN configuration.

Our NAS system now has 7-8 CIFS servers defined (which will become separate
groups on the cluster, each with same name as original CIFS). I have a plan
to move the data using HP's Storage Mirroring software (we've successfully
done this recently with a small set of data.

The major problem I forsee is creating the large number of cluster share
resources ( max of ~160 for one group) during the move window. I'm thinking
I should be able to write somekind of script to do this, but can't find any
scripting samples/templates for creating cluster resources!

Any one have any sample scripts (I don't yet know PowerShell, so I'm
thinking VBS or WSH, or the like) to create Cluster Share resources?

Thanks,
Denny

RE: Migrating shares from EMC NAS to MS Cluster?

I have found the cluster.exe utility which allows me to do exactly what I
want/need.

I've seen that article; but I don't understand the problem!! I'm NOT
creating home folder shares, but project and departmental shares, where many
of our users map to more than one!

Coiuldn't you share this information here? It might benefit everyone and
then - multiple people might not email you over the years and receive no
response - but instead see the answer here. ;-)

WOW!
Denny, I'm already reply your to ...@xxxxxx!

OK. I'm send information to this disscussion group, but here is not a
cluster discussion group.
See this link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc780150.aspx
Form this link:
"If you want to use a cluster to create a high availability file server that
will have hundreds of file shares, consider managing those file shares using
a single File Share resource. You can do this if the folders that you want
to share on the network are all subfolders of a common folder."
In my practice, I share the root of cluster drive and set "Share
subfolders".
