ad troubleshooting

anyway of confirming with a vbscript that the global catalog is fine,
along with other windows server such as infrastructure master, rid, and
etc.. we have an environment where we need to be able to check if these
are woring for users with helpdesk skill sets.

What exactly do you want to check for your users?

Re: ad troubleshooting

users with basic skills can run tools to check ad health, and
availability if critical servers such as catalog servers, anf other fsmo
roles.

Re: ad troubleshooting

If you have relatively unsophisticated users, I would recommend that you
look for commercial off the shelf software to perform these functions. If
there is such software, it would likely be more user-friendly than any
script you might cobble together, to say nothing of the difficulty of fully
testing a script designed to recognize problems that you might have
difficulty creating for testing purposes.

They are helpdesk staff with some skill. Just need something to tell me
