Problem using SUM with ADO object

What am I doing wrong here? I expect to get the total for all rows in the
column 'TotalItems' of the spreadsheet server.xls but instead I get the
error: "The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object
'MailServer'. Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and
the path name correctly." I do get results when using "SELECT * FROM
MailServer" so it must be the SUM().
Thank you.

dbPath = "C:\desktop\Server.xls"
con.Open "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & dbPath&";Extended
Properties=""Excel 8.0;HDR=Yes;"";"
rs.Open "SELECT Sum('TotalItems') as TotalItems FROM MailServer",con

Re: Problem using SUM with ADO object

Scott,

I assume that the MailServer in the SQL is the worksheet name in which case
it should
be written as follows
[MailServer$]
