Error using SUM() with the ADODB Object

What am I doing wrong here? I expect to get the total for all rows in the
column 'TotalItems' of the spreadsheet server.xls but instead I get the
error: "The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object
'MailServer'. Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and
the path name correctly." I do get results when using "SELECT * FROM
MailServer" so it must be the SUM().
Thank you.

dbPath = "C:\desktop\Server.xls"
con.Open "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & dbPath&";Extended
Properties=""Excel 8.0;HDR=Yes;"";"
rs.Open "SELECT Sum('TotalItems') as TotalItems FROM MailServer",con

Please don't post independently to multiple groups, it wastes everyone's
time.
I took a stab at this one in the WSH group.

It also wastes time when you re-post to the same group multiple times. As
well, people are not likely to put much into responding if they think you
might not know how to get back to the same thread to review their responses.
