I need to authenticate using windows user account in the domain the SQL server is in but constantly get access denied errors. Connection string im using is : strSQLConnString = "Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Data Source=SQLSERVER1,49168;Persist Security Info=False;Initial Catalog=" & strSQLDatabase & ";User ID=" & strDomain & "\" & strAdminUserName & ";Password=" & strPassword & ";" The error I get is : Login failed for user 'DOMAIN\USERACCOUNT'.. Error code : -2147217843 DOMAIN\USERACCOUNT has been substitutied for my actual domain and user account but you get the idea. Any help please? |

Also, if 49168 is a port number, should the data source be an IP address? I assume you are using the default instance. -- Richard Mueller MVP Directory Services Hilltop Lab - http://www.rlmueller.net -- |
