| | WshShell.Exec workaround Hello. I used to call an executable located in a webserver with WshShell.Exec and parse the returned text. Now my hosting service wont allow me to run it, and i´m trying to figure out how to call this executable (or any other) located on a different web server, which would involve using a URL (http://etc...) Example: Set objShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell") Set objScriptExec = objShell.Exec("c:\someprogram.exe") '----get returned text strExeOutput = objScriptExec.StdOut.ReadAll Any ideas? Thanks in advance. |

I am doubtful whether any professionally-run webserver is going allow you to do it, regardless of any scripting tricks you may discover. If it is only another server for which you have administrative responsibility, then it may just be a simple matter of setting the appropriate permission. cheers, jw ____________________________________________________________ You got questions?
