This may be better posted in a developer's forum, but I'll put it here
because I'm using it in a script, and I hope to get an answer that doesn't
require 10 years experience in DotNet development...
I've been using the Win32 COM object, Shell, to do FTP transfers, though I
must admit I barely understand enough of it to use it. It seems like a
better solution than an external call to the OS native FTP, but I have hit a
snag with the initiation of the server connection in an environment that
includes a FTP proxy server.
The object is instantiated with:
The FTP connection is then opened/created with:
objFtp = objApp.NameSpace( ConnectionString )
Where ConnectionString is what you would put into an IE address field,
something like: ftp://UserName:Password@newsgroup
And that works, in general...
Now my problem...
I need to go out through a proxy server that throws a wrench in this
Using an FTP client, I would first issue an OPEN statement, followed by a
USER statement, like:
USER UserName@newsgroup Password
I'm hoping to find a way to do this 2-phased connection with the Shell
