| | VirtualPC VM created in XP host hangs in Vista host Hi, I have Virtual PC 2007 SP1 installed on an XP-SP3 host (XP host) and a Vista-SP1 host (Vista host). It was installed on both hosts from the same downloaded installer file. (Everything 32-BIT) On the XP host I created a VM and installed XP-SP2 and upgraded it to SP3 (Source VM). Within the XP host I have copied the Source VM's directory to a new folder, renamed the VM settings and hard drive files, and edited the new copy's settings to have it point at the new hard drive. It successfully ran. I repeated the copying, renaming, etc., to the Vista host. The VM hangs when I try to boot it in the Vista host. In safe mode it hangs at Mup.sys. One difference, the XP host has 2 GB RAM, so the Source VM is set for 512 MB RAM. The Vista host has only 1 GB RAM, so I had to configure the copied VM back to 256 MB RAM. Any ideas? -- Daniel Jameson ·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.·.· You don't have to agree with an artist's opinion to appreciate the art with which he expresses it. |

| | Re: VirtualPC VM created in XP host hangs in Vista host A better idea would be to only copy the VHD file across and create new virtual machine using the copied VHD.
