UTF encoded filenames cannot be copied

Hi,

When I try to copy (drag & drop) a file from the virtual machine (Windows XP
Professional) to my host machine (Windows Vista Business), and that file
contains a unicode character (such as Äž), it will fail and show this message:

"Virtual PC has encountered an error in the guest while copying files.

An error in Virtual PC has occurred (2)."

Is this a bug or do I need to change some settings?

VPC2007 "Shared Folders" has numerous limitations and you are much
better off not using it at all. Connect a network share between the
host and guest instead using normal Windows networking functions, then
you will have a stable file transfer system.

Re: UTF encoded filenames cannot be copied

Thank you very much for your fast reply. I do not use the folder sharing, I
use the Virtual Machine Additions which enable me to drag & drop the files
(but maybe this is the same code as folder sharing).

I think it's a good idea to set up a network share. Thanks for the
information.

Best regards,
