| | network problems i am running windows server 2003 on my vpc and xp pro on my laptop. i can't get them to see each other and join my laptop to the domain. please help driving me crazy. |

| | Re: network problems That is probably a lucky accident. It is a bad idea to join the host to a domain when the server is running as a vm. When you boot the host it will try to contact the DC which, of course, can't start before the host does! If you are running on a laptop which is not plugged into a network, networking between host and guest can be tricky. If there is no active NIC on the host you will need to install a Microsoft Loopback Adapter in the host and network through that. See the help files in VPC and/or XP.
