Installing Upgrade version in Virtual PC

As I seem to need to refer back to XP rather a lot, I am thinking of using
Virtual PC on my Vista laptop.
I have a retail upgrade version of XP unused, and also a copy of Windows 98.
Can someone tell me if it's possible to install XP via W98 in Virtual PC?

Thanks

Yes. But you don't need to. Just start the vm with the XP upgrade disk and
when Setup asks for a cd from a previous version of Windows just provide the
Win98 cd for the verification. It works the same as on a physical computer
when clean installing XP using an upgrade cd.

Thanks for that - there's obviously been an improvement since the last
version (unless I did something wrong) because I haven't been able to get it
to work in the past. This time it worked! (Now if only I can get the
wireless working.......)

It hasn't changed. You just missed a step somewhere.
