Error Installing Additions

I've just created a virtual image of a metal machine running XP Pro SP2. I
then did the repair install to get it running in VPC. When I try to install
the additions, I get the a windows installer error "Error opening
installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists
and is writable."

I've done some searches on this, but haven't found anything useful. One of
the posts I found mentions administrative privileges. The account I'm using
does have administrative privileges.

What else could be wrong? BTW, I'm running VPC 2007 SP1 on a Vista Ultimate
machine.

RE: Error Installing Additions

Never mind, I finally figured this out.

The physical machine I virtualized had 3 drives, C:, D: and E:. I had my
temp folder on E:. The VM only has C: and D:, so the environment variables
were pointing to a temp folder that did not exist. Just changed the
environment variables to use a folder on D: for the temp folder, rebooted,
and the install went fine.
