| | transfer files from vista to virtual pc. I have installed virtual PC, installed Windows 98 and it appears to be running OK. However, I cannot open a simple notepad file that is in Vista Home Premium, in Win98. Nor can I transfer any other file for that matter. How can I do this? Tried to open a Doc file that I have in Vista,. in Word97 that I have in Win98. Can't do it. All I get is an error message. Thanks, AL |

All I get is an error message. very little point in saying that you "get an error message" if you don't actually tell the group what that error message is... Quote: >Have you installed the Additions? download the 'Install or update VM Additions....' and click 'continue'. I get a screen message that says 'Remove VM additions'. Well, since I don't want to remove additions I do not click 'remove', instead I click 'cancel' which is the only other choice. But then the screen says 'Are you sure you want to cancel VM addtions installation'. This leaves me very confused. I click 'yes'. Then the screen says 'Setup was interrupted before VM could be completely removed' so I figure I did the right thing in clicking 'yes' because I don't want to remove VM. IMHO this is very bad writing. Don't these guys every read what they write? Anyway, back to the additions. I have no idea. I don't know how to find out. If you can then you have the additions installed because if not then you would have to hit the "host" key (by default the right-Alt key) in order to "un-capture" the mouse pointer inside the guest and get it back to the host. -- Bo Berglund |
