Vista - Cannot connect to CISCO VPN from Virtual PC

Hi,

I am an absolute newbie at this. I am running Windows XP 32-bit as a
guest OS on a virtual PC sitting on my host, a Windows VISTA 64-bit. I
have been very unsuccessfully trying to connect to my work computer
through the CISCO VPN client from my guest OS (This is the main reason
I am running a Virtual PC, in the first place). After some reading on
the net, I used the setting Shared Networking for the guest OS
internet setting.

Whether I use the Shared Network or the host computer's NIC, I am able
to get the internet working on the guest OS. But I am simply not able
to get the VPN connected, I keep getting the error message, "Secure
VPN connection terminated locally by the client. Reason 414, failed to
establish a TCP connection"

Can someone out there please help me. I have spent hours trying to get
this working .

Cisco VPN works quite well for me on a Win2000 guest, XP64 host. Network is
set to host adapter, and works well. Is the guest OS, XP32, firewall off?
I'm not sure you can get it to work with shared networking (NAT), did you
try it set to host adapter?

Thanks a lot for replying! Disabling the firewall did work
I have been trying both with NAT and host adapter but with the
firewall on, I hadnt been able to get it working.

Now lets see how consistently this connects to VPN. Have you had any
issues ever with using VPN on the Guest OS in a virtual PC?
