Hardware-assisted virtualization

Hello all,
I just replaced a crashed notebook with an ASUS G50V pre-loaded with
Vista64. To run my Shinko S1245 printer, I need a 32-bit system as there is
no 64 bit driver. I loaded Virtual PC and installed XP Pro. However, I can
only see the virtual C drive and no USB ports or the other data drives in XP.
If I understand correctly, I need to turn on Hardware-Assisted
Virtualization to gain more functionality in XP. I am running the most
current BIOS, and have enabled Intel vt-d. I have powered down and rebooted,
but in the VPC console options Hardware Virtualization says not available on
this machine, and the selector box is grayed out. I reviewed an earlier post
on this same subject, but it did not solve my problem. So, I ask A) Do I
indeed need this function to see the USB ports? B) How can I turn this
function on? C) Is there another way to get to the USB ports and hard
drives? D) Is there a way to get Vista 64 to operate a USB port with a 32 bit
driver? Then, I wouldn't need VPC.
Your knowledge is appreciated.

Re: Hardware-assisted virtualization

Virtual PC doesn't support USB for other than keyboard and mouse, so
there's really no way to do what you want.
