Vista - Virtual PC cannot share network adapter when VPN is connected

My VPC is using the host PC's network adapter for network connection and all
is working OK. As soon as I connect my Cisco VPN client on the host PC the
VPC loses all network connectivity, even local network connection is lost
(can't ping router, other PC's etc).
Is there a way to configure the VPN to allow VPC to share the network
adapter when the VPN is connected?

I want to start my host (WinXP).
Start VPN on host.
Start VPC (WinxP).
Browse from the VPC to company internal and external sites by means of "sharing" the host vpn connection.
Connect from the VPC to company internal servers (eg. version management servers) by means of "sharing" the host vpn connection.

Is this possible or not and if yes what are the steps to get this to work ?

I've spend hours on this, unfortunateley without getting a step further.

Just consider a virtual machine as any other PC on your network when
thinking about what you may and may not do, it will usually give you
the right answer.

If you're having problems with that, like I did a while back where I
could only ever have one VM anywhere within my network active at a time
regardless of whether it was a physical machine or a VM, then you need
to get a newer router. My old one(s) (there were two of them) both
allowed only one VPN conn. at a time, but my new one had no such problem.

I have used D-LINK routers since many years and they all managed
multiple VPN connections. But I know that Netgear routers had problems
in this area and there are other brands too....
