[OT] Sparc/Alpha emulators

Hello,
I am hoping this is not nasty to post in here.
But I think some guys here may know.

http://www.thefreecountry.com/emulators/index.shtml

I've got the above link, but did not think they had
any Sparc/Alpha emulators. I know VPC emulate x86 32-bit systems. Is it
possible for Sparc/Alpha emulators
that run as well as VPC?

Thanks
Jack

I've never heard of one, but that doesn't mean it's not out there. It
would be quite slow though, as the CPU itself would have to be
emulated not just virtualized like VPC does.

This is a product that makes it possible to run SPARC based programs
in Solaris x86-64.
It is not nearly free though....

According to <http://bellard.org/qemu/qemu-doc.html#SEC60> QEMU supports
Sparc, but I've never tried.

It does work, but unusably slowly. No doubt, this is because it has to
emulate the CPU rather than virtualise it.

FWIW, Mac emulators suffer from exactly the same thing for exactly the same
reason...
