| | Installing Windows XP on Virtual PC 2007 I'm trying to get XP Pro installed in Virtual PC running on Vista Ultimate. VPC installed just fine and when prompted, I inserted my Windows XP Pro SP2 DVD (MSDN Disk 2430.2). XP installs normally up to the point where Setup prompts for the Product Key. I've entered 2 valid Product IDs but I keep getting the message: The Product ID you entered is not valid. Any suggestions? -- Jack <><> |

| | Re: Installing Windows XP on Virtual PC 2007 It was indeed my error. The fine print on the MSDN DVD was that it the XP Pro version I was installing was a volume license version; I was entering a standard XP Pro key. When I entered my VLK, the installation proceeded. Now I have another issue I'll post on a separate thread. Thanks! -- Jack Waller <><> "Steve Jain" wrote: Quote: > On Tue, 12 Aug 2008 20:51:36 -0700, Jack <n2(delete)jack@xxxxxx> > wrote: > Quote: > >I'm trying to get XP Pro installed in Virtual PC running on Vista Ultimate. > >VPC installed just fine and when prompted, I inserted my Windows XP Pro SP2 > >DVD (MSDN Disk 2430.2). | | Re: Installing Windows XP on Virtual PC 2007 The XP I was installing was a volume license edition and I wasn't entering the VLK. Finding and entering the VLK enabled installation to resume.
