| | Running cshow under DOS/VPC2007 Hello, A very old App called cshow by compuserve can't be started under DOS VM (some good-O-day pascal like errors appear like Runtime error 200 at 0000:5F59) . Do you think it is the emulated hardware issue? or the driver provided by the software? I am not sure because qpeg, which is similar to cshow, is able to run properly. Thanks Jack |

| | Re: Running cshow under DOS/VPC2007 I can run setup.exe, and the VM can pass almost all of the tests in various resolutions when I choose VESA BIOS Extension, but cshow itself can't be started! Thanks Jack |

I am not sure because qpeg, which is similar to > cshow, is able to run properly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runtime_error_200 and here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbo_Pascal In that one, look especially at the section titled "Issue with CRT unit on fast processors" Then get a copy of TPPATCH.EXE and try that. It's reported to sometimes work even if the program wasn't compiled with Turbo Pascal. - Bill |

| | Re: Running cshow under DOS/VPC2007 I remember CShow. Fine program. I seem to recall that some Runtime Errors were due to timing issues with faster processors, or even newer DOS versions than what the program was compiled under. I'm not sure what you could do about either, though. SetVer if it's a DOS version issue, and there were "slowdown" programs at one time. | | Re: Running cshow under DOS/VPC2007 Hi Bill, There is an error running TPPATCH.exe which states that (as I don't understand German or others) the program was compiled with compiler prior to 7 or something I guess. But I think you guys are right, it should be fast processor problem. Thanks Jack |
