Setting up a VHD

Hi all,

I am setting up a no of virtual machines for my company. We are a growing
company so this is new to me.

Am I able to download any pre made vhd's or will I need to get a XP licence
for each one I set up?

If so where is the best place to get them from? I am based in the UK?

I want each vhd to have it's own unique id.

Mike

Generally speaking, virtual machines are licensed in exactly the same way as
physical machines. Unless your company has a volume licence / select
agreement, you will indeed need a separate licence for each copy of XP, and
any other licensed software e.g. Microsoft Office etc...

Depends how many you want - I'd probably try www.ebay.co.uk first...

If you weant to use WinXP in guests you need a license for every
single one just like for a physical PC.

Bad luck! Microsoft just canceled selling XP as per July 2008! So you
are forced into the second-hand market....
