Vista - Win98 network issue

I've installed Win98 into VM and trying to establish network connection to XP host. When I'm trying open Host in Guest's Network neigbourhood, the message appears: "Enter password to access resource: IPC$" and password prompt. No message appears when browsing host's shares from host itself. What's the matter?

Nothing is the matter. You are trying to access a share on another
machine. To do that you need credentials which are valid on that machine. Do
you have an account on the host which is exactly the same as the one on the
guest?

To do this without being prompted the workgroup/username/password on the
guest must exactly match an account on the host. All three fields must
match.
