| | .wim to VHD Is it possible to apply a .wim image file as a VHD. The .wim file was taken from a PC with the exact same hardware that the Virtual PC server is running on. The .wim file was NOT sysprepped. Any advice would be appreciated |

| Vista Business x64 | Re: .wim to VHD Well, you can mount the VHD as a drive in Windows PE and use ImageX to apply the WIM. (Or you can mount the drive with VHDMount.) You will run into some hardware issues, though, since the emulated hardware (inside Virtual PC) is different from the host's hardware. Also, the VHD you create will not have the same disk IDs and volume serials as your original drive. |
