How much data are you trying to copy?
It is a known limitation with the VPC VMAdditions "shared folder"
feature that it cannot handle large data sets. Both file size and sum
of files and folder depth has limitations that makes the feature
unusable except for single file or folder sharing with small to medium
sized files.

Activate real network sharing between the two computers instead, this
works much better!
