If your mdb is corrupt then you can repair it using compact and repair utility or installing latest pack of Jet hotfix. In case it doesn't help then try Stellar phoenix access recovery software. This software works well for corrputed mdb files and MS access files. Posted via http://www.VirtualServerFaq.com - Brought to you by Business Information Technology Shop - http://www.bitshop.com |

I generally end up having to drag the entire install file into the VPC system and installing locally. I suspect similar weirdness is happening in Access MDBs. The difference between Access and many other types of files is that Access does random reads and writes to the file. Word, Excel and PPT generally read the entire file once and, when you save it, write the entire file once. Very different operations. Therefore I wouldn't suggest trying to use Access from within a VPC session via shared folders. Now maybe networked folders would work better. I don't know as I haven't tried either scenario. | | Re: Corrupted Access MDBs on Shared Folder Same problem for me with XP Pro SP3 as Host and W2K with MSACCESS 97 in Virtual PC 2007. I tested with database in my VPC it works fine and similar with network files. It seems to be a problem only with Shared Folder in Virtual PC ! | | Re: Corrupted Access MDBs on Shared Folder Tony's advice is sound, it's really not a good idea to be using shared folders for any heavy duty file access in VPC, it's much better to use normal networking shared drives. Shared folders just isn't robust enough. -- Bob Comer On Fri, 3 Oct 2008 07:47:02 -0700, Papthor <Papthor@xxxxxx> wrote: Quote: >Same problem for me with XP Pro SP3 as Host and W2K with MSACCESS 97 in >Virtual PC 2007. > >I tested with database in my VPC it works fine and similar with network files. > >It seems to be a problem only with Shared Folder in Virtual PC ! > > >"Tony Toews [MVP]" wrote: > Quote: >> Quote: >> >> I have a Windows XP Pro SP2 VM with Microsoft Office 2003 installed.
