The actual software media is irrelevant - it's the licence which is
important...

Would your software licence allow you to install this copy of XP legally on
two physical computers...?

Virtual machines are considered identical to physical machines as far as
Microsoft software licensing is concerned...

If you wish to adhere to the license agreement then no, you cannot. The XP
agreement allows for installation on one computer and a VM is considered a
separate computer.

R U kidding me?
my one physical computer is actually multiple computers?

I'll have to remeber that when I try to sell it.... :-)

So, is there any solution that is available for testing and evaluating?

No - your one physical computer is actually one physical computer with
virtualisation software installed on it...

Get an MSDN subscription - then you can install Windows on as many virtual
machines as you want, so long as you do so for development and testing etc.

Yes, VMs allow you to use one computer as many.

For Microsoft, the MSDN subscription.
