| | No internet connection Host PC is running Vista Home Premium. VPC OS is XP Pro. I use a USB wireless modem to connect to the internet. I have installed Microsoft Loopback Adapter on the host and specified that option in VPC networking settings. Installing the loopback adapter created another local area connection in network connections. When looking at that connection's properties, there is no "Share" option. The guest OS can see a network and reports that it is functioning. It cannot see the internet connection however. I have never set up a network. What steps am I missing? Thanks. |

Select your USB NIC as the connection to share and the loopback adapter as the private interface in ICS. Assign the NIC in the vm to the loopback adapter option (from Settings in the VPC Console window). If your vm is set to get its network config automatically (which is the default setting) the vm should get its config from ICS when it boots and be able to connect to both the host and/or the Internet. |

At least this is by what I have seen discussed here. But both allow the Internet connection via the host. -- Bo Berglund (Sweden) |

So there is no "tab" for ICS in the XP case. What operating system do you use on the host? -- Bo Berglund (Sweden) |
