Virtual PC configuration question

Hi,

I have downloaded VPC 2007 and am reading the docs, however I have a
question I can't see the answer to :

Is it possible to form a guest configuration from an existing
partition on a hard disk ? I am an embedded programmer and have many
hard drives with mutiple-boot OS installations and being able to point
the VPC configuration at one of these partitions and say "make me a
virtualized copy of that" whould be sublime. Is such a facility
available ?

I asked this question once before a long tima ago and got the answer :

"when creating a new virtual hard disk using the VHD
wizard, when it asks you to select the type of VHD to create, its the
last option at the bottom, "Linked to a hard disk (Advanced"), then
when
clicking next, it will enumerate all the disks you have online"

I do not see any option for "Linked to a hard disk" in the VHD
wizard, all I get is checkboxes for "An existing virtual hard disk"
and "A new virtual hard disk". Has this functionality been removed
from VPC 6.0.192.0 ?

Many thanks,

Mike

To create a virtual hard disk as a link to a host hard disk
Open Virtual PC Console.

On the File menu, click Virtual Disk Wizard.

In the Virtual Disk Wizard dialog box, click Next.

In the Disk Options dialog box, click Create a new virtual disk, and
then click Next.

In the Virtual Disk Type dialog box, click A virtual hard disk, and then
click Next.

In the Virtual Hard Disk Location dialog box, type a name for the
virtual hard disk, and then click Next.

In the Virtual Hard Disk Type dialog box, click Linked to a hard disk.

When the Caution warning appears, read the warning, click OK to
continue, and then click Next.

In the Physical Hard Disk dialog box, click the appropriate disk in the
Host Physical Disk box, click Next, and then click Finish.

If the physical disk that you select is not mounted, you can create a
link with read/write access by clearing the Read only check box.
