how to make MS-Dos partition to install ME etc?

I tried to install windows ME(yeah I know, why? lol)
but it tells me I need a MS-DOS partition to do so. I am using Vpc 2004 and
selected the correct OS etc but It sees my drive partition as a NTFS.

so how does one create a dos partition or a fat32 in the virtual drive?

You need to boot from a Win98 or WinME floppy disk and then FDISK,
partition the drive, reboot, and format the C:.

Exactly the same way you would if you were trying to install WinMe on a
physical machine - a virtual machine is no different...

1) Boot from a DOS boot floppy

2) Partition the (virtual) hard disk with FDISK.exe

3) Format the newly created (virtual) partition with FORMAT.com

check out the Win98 stuff on my site. It will get you started, just
substitute WinME for Win98 and it all works the same.

forgot.

Glad we could help! And don't worry about it, WinME was quite some
time ago and installing it is very different than what we have today.
