| | Virtual PC with Pervasive SQL 2000i I set up a Virtual PC so I could run ACCPAC for Windows under XP on my Vista Machine. Originally I had trouble setting up Pervasive SQL 2000i which is the data manager for Accpac. The installation program simply didn't run on the Virtual PC. After briefly looking around a bit, people were reporting successfully running Pervasive under VMWare, so I downloaded the player, and voila, the installation ran and Accpac installed and ran just fine. After a few days, however, the VMWare machine would no longer run, giving me a bunch of failure messages along with a log. Now I am back to square one. I have the Virtual PC I set up with the Microsoft Virtual PC software and it runs fine. I would still like to run the Accpac/Pervasive combination. Any suggestions on how to get the installation program for Pervasive to run? Thanks, Richard |

| | Re: Virtual PC with Pervasive SQL 2000i No response yet, but I think I am going to be on my own. What I'm really looking for is a way to the the Pervasive installer to run on Virtual PC 2007. | | Re: Virtual PC with Pervasive SQL 2000i It's XP Professional, and it was up to service pack 3 by the time I starting to have issues. The Pervasive SQL software is the 2000i client. I could upload it. Normally it sits in the SQL Server's directory in a "Client" Folder and is put in place as a part of the server installation. As far as I know, the only way to get the client is as part of a server installation. Once the Installer starts running it is going to be looking for a server, but the issue is simply getting the installer to start running in the first place. I was hoping that there were some "compatibility" settings that could be tweaked. If you would like me to zip up the client and upload it, no problem. Thanks! I loaded it onto an FTP site, or I can use Yousendit... | | Re: Virtual PC with Pervasive SQL 2000i As far as licensing issues, should not be a problem as the client is pretty useless by itself and it is now an unsupported product.
